The anniversary, 15th edition of MOTUL Rally Kumrovec brings a top-tier motorsport spectacle! A total of 58 crews from 8 countries have registered for this year’s event, guaranteeing an exceptionally exciting and action-packed racing weekend.
Leading crews and a strong Rally2 class
Starting number 1 will be carried by the reigning Croatian champions and current leaders in both the Croatian Championship and Central European Zone Championship, Matteo Bernini and Lorenzo Mattucci, who arrive in Kumrovec in a powerful Škoda Fabia Rally2. Right behind them, with starting number 2, will be the German crew Manuel Koeßler and Benedikt Hofmann in a Hyundai i20, currently ranked second in the Mitropa Rally Cup.
The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy exciting drives from numerous strong crews in Rally2 cars, notably Antal Kovacs and Richard Csaki (Hungary, Hyundai i20 N), Mitja Glasenčnik and Matej Pistotnik (Slovenia, Hyundai i20), and Dilg Rüdiger and Stefanie Fritzensmeier (Germany, Škoda Fabia Evo).
Attractions on the track and the return of Kumrovec legends
With great interest, the performance of the crew Nino Bogović and Mateo Butorac in an attractive Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX is eagerly anticipated.
This year’s edition once again gathers competitors who have marked the history of this event. Three-time winner of Kumrovec, Janos Szilagyi, arrives with co-driver Peter Horvath in a Peugeot 208 Rally4. Szilagyi boasts an impressive streak — he has competed in all previous editions of the rally, just like local driver Dario Šamec, who will be co-driven in a Peugeot 206 F2000 by Tomislav Mikulić.
Automotive icons and historical classics
A special treat for petrolheads is the arrival of the Greek crew Fragiskos Stafylopatis / Nikolaos Margetis in the iconic Lancia Delta HF Integrale.
Alongside the Lancia, spectators on the special stages will be able to see a whole range of historically interesting vehicles that are rarely seen today on either roads or tracks, such as the Toyota Corolla AE86, Fiat Ritmo 130 TC, Ford Escort RS2000, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III, and Lada Samara.
See you in Kumrovec from September 3rd to 5th!
